Words can not express how excited I am for the Doctor Who 50th anniversary episode “The Day of the Doctor”!!! This trailer doesn’t lead on to much, so it isn’t going to spoil anything for you.
They toy with our emotions, make us… FEEL THINGS. Giving us that what we love and taking it away. HOW LONG MUST WE WAIT!!!! Enjoy the 26 seconds of Sherlock above. Also mustache?
During today’s Doctor Who announcment I hoped to hear of Steven Moffat’s departure but there was no such luck. However I was excited to see who would take up the mantel of The Doctor. At 2:30 p.m. EST (that’s non-British-time for those of you keeping score) they announced that the new Doctor would be played by: Peter Capaldi
Here is Capaldi:
You may recognize him from the Fires of Pompeii episode during Tennets run. Which begs the question… Will Moffat continue to pull more cast from the Fires of Pompeii episode?
Here is Karen Gillian from that very episode:
Any Who, here is something I found mightily amusing:
On taking a look at Peter Capaldi IMDB page I believe that someone from the casting of World War Z was trying to tip us off:
Before everyone hops on their conspiracy horses and rides into the sunset. I would like to remind you that the W.H.O. is a real this
Now just for fun. Here is some more Peter Capaldi:
Using his hand as a GUN!
As Robert Downy Jr.
and as some kind of old western themed super villain.
Also to clarify on the title “12th or 13th”. According to the season finale there was a Doctor that existed between at the time what we assumed to be the 8th and 9th Doctor. Now throwing the count out of order until we get some clarity on this matter. Will this be the final regeneration of the Doctor? …No… not as long as there is money to be milked from the franchise.
The 50th anniversary has landed and has added a bit more insight to the whole 13th Doctor thing. Steven Moffat (current show runner) has stated that the John Hurt Doctor who takes place between the 8th and 9th Doctor does not effect the numbering of the Doctors, BUT in the 50th anniversary they make light to calling the Peter Capaldi doctor the 13th Doctor. So I have made the list below to help explain my frustration.
Regeneration Number – Actor Name – Doctor Number
1 WILLIAM HARTNELL 1
2 PATRICK TROUGHTON 2
3 JON PERTWEE 3
4 TOM BAKER 4
5 PETER DAVISON 5
6 COLIN BAKER 6
7 SYLVESTER MCCOY 7
8 PAUL MCGANN 8
9 JOHN HURT (The War Doctor)
10 CHRISTOPHER ECCLESTON 9
11 DAVID TENNANT 10
12 (used a regen to make handy doctor if I remember correctly.) DAVID TENNANT Other Universe
13 MATT SMITH 11
14? PETER CAPALDI 13
Someone hide my credit card, you can now pre-order the Doctor Who: Series 1-7 Limited Edition Blu-ray Giftset on Amazon right now! The box comes with Series 1-7 of the rebooted Doctor Who featuring our favorite Doctors, Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant, and Matt Smith, all in beautiful remastered 1080p and a universal remote in the form of a sonic screw driver! Unfortunately this box comes at a pretty hefty price, but as a Whovian that doesn’t own any of the seasons on blu-ray it should make a great investment.

Doctor Who returns with all new episodes next weekend starting a new journey with The Doctor’s new companion Clara Oswin Oswald, played by Jenna-Louise Coleman. Clara has shown up in two previous episodes of Doctor Who and I won’t spoil anything if you haven’t seen previous seasons, But I very much look forward to the second half of Season 7 with the new chemistry between the two.

Take a look at the “The Bells of Saint John: A Prequel” it is pretty much what the title implies, a very short prequel to “The Bells of Saint John” episode.
